Elmina Ghana

Before our United Youth Corps camp started, we traveled around to some parts of coastal Ghana, including Elmina. The Elmina slave castle is a memorial to the slave trade, still with a lot of the original canons and rooms. Ghana is the first country in Africa to apologize for it’s role in promoting slavery long before the Europeans came there and carried on the tradition. (Tribal chiefs would sell their people for more money to other tribes)
