After spending over one month in the Philippines (for the Feast of Tabernacles and family gatherings), we took a side trip over to Japan for 2 weeks. Having gotten used to Filipino culture, sights and sounds, and weather, we abruptly had a big change popping over to Japan in late November/early December.
I enjoy both cultures, Filipino and Japan, but both are quite different! I was again in awe of how quiet, neat, clear, orderly and cookie-cutter everything is. Also, coming from an Asian country where everyone speaks English to Japan where very few do, I had to rely on google translate a lot. Not only for looking at ingredients on foods, but just basic interaction with people out and about.
Our little one got to meet two more of her uncles on this trip, which was great! She needs time to warm up to new people, but it is fun seeing them interact!
