Palawan Places: The View

After some brief island hopping near El Nido, Palawan, Philippines, we embarked on a journey to our AirBNB place called “The View.” This place had one modern room (for the couple we traveled with) and three glamping tents on raised platforms.

While waiting for a ride to our place from the staff at The View, we ran around the beach village of Barangay Buena Suerte getting some dinner and stocking up for food for the Sabbath. We tried a local grocery store, hoping to find ingredients for sandwiches, PB and J, etc… But we just went to a Chinese restaurant on the beach and ordered about 17 meals for the 5 of us and got it to go!

We waited for our ride near the municipal building…

…and got word that our driver got in an accident getting to us, and would send someone else! We noticed a concert/fashion show happening just across from the building we were resting at with all of our bags, and muddy shoes from island hopping.

We finally got to The View… mostly. There was a winding bumpy dirt road that our van slowly traversed, but then we stopped when the driver saw the 45 degree slope up to The View… After much deliberation, it was decided that we had to get out and walk up the hill with our bags. after about 10 minutes, we could see the glimmering lights in the distance and were excited for the prospect of immanent sleep!

We woke up the next day to a day of rest. We listened to a sermon together and just chilled. That is until that evening when a traveling Dutch Pancake chef and about 15 travelers crashed our party and started making pancakes for everyone!
